AA meetings can be either open or closed, depending on the preferences of the group:
Open Meetings: Open meetings welcome anyone interested in learning more about Alcoholics Anonymous. You do not have to identify as an alcoholic to attend. These meetings are ideal for newcomers or anyone curious about how AA works.
Closed Meetings: Closed meetings are reserved for individuals who identify as alcoholics or have a desire to stop drinking. These meetings offer a more private space for sharing and discussion among those committed to recovery.
-
Mixed meetings are open to all AA members, regardless of gender. These gatherings offer an inclusive environment where everyone can share their experiences and support one another. Mixed meetings reflect the core principles of AA and provide a diverse space for connection.
-
Women’s meetings are designed specifically for women in recovery. These meetings provide a supportive and empowering space where women can share their journeys and discuss issues unique to their experiences in sobriety.
-
Men’s meetings offer a supportive environment for men in AA. These meetings provide an opportunity to focus on recovery in a group of peers who may face similar challenges, offering strength and solidarity in the journey to sobriety.ption text goes here
